OUR BRAND
Lamiñak is a clothing brand created by 12 students from the Basque Country.
It is much more than a simple clothing brand, it is built around a set of ethical values that reflect the deep commitment of its founders to the culture and environment of the Basque Country.
The founders of Lamiñak wanted to offer a sustainable alternative to traditional fashion brands that do not consider the environmental impact of their activities.
FOUNDERS
Twelve students in the second year of Marketing Techniques and all faced with the same problem, we took the initiative to create our company.
Indeed, we could not find clothes that were both beautiful and ecological in the region.
With a passion for fashion and a desire to have a positive impact on our community, we, the founders, joined forces to create Lamiñak.
Together, we brought a diversity of experiences and perspectives that have been essential in creating our brand that reflects the rich culture and commitment to the environment and community of the Basque Country.
Today, our thriving business is a source of pride for us and an example of what can be achieved when passion and skill are combined.
WHY LAMIÑAK
This is the Basque term for a fantastic being from Basque mythology, similar to a mermaid.
Lamiñak are mainly nocturnal creatures, living in caves, underground or near springs and streams.
Stories and legends about the Lamiñak are an important part of the body of Basque legends.
Many places in the Basque Country, both on the French and Spanish sides, bear their name and have been the inspiration for the construction of many bridges, churches and other buildings.
This name corresponds well to our company and its history since we offer t-shirts with the effigy of the cities of the French and Spanish Basque Country.
